In college, the showers have no equilibrium between antarctic cold and burning lava hot.

I am suddenly emerged in a strange environment with a strange person. I was subjected to the top bunk of our dorm, and the ceiling is literally half an arm’s reach from me right now. I got a small owl pillow from one of the shops along the way.

My area is the corner filled with junk. My roommate’s side is immaculate and bland, while I have books and paints strewn everywhere along with posters on my wall.

That’s what you get for making me take the top bunk.

Tomorrow is the day

I’m packed and cleaned up and ready to go. I am desperately nervous but it’s gonna be quite the experience.

See you all in college!

My final college move load. All I am missing are the things I still use, such as computer, chargers, tablet, etc.

5 days left and still so much to do

It seems like yesterday that I was ticking off 50 days remaining until college, and all of a sudden I am down to 5.

I still haven’t bought my books and I have yet to get the shots I need in order to attend. What if they don’t let me go because I didn’t get my booster shots in time? The college anxiety is relentless.

All the grade school kids went back to school this week and I was a little difficult to think that I am done with the first week of “Okay, open your planner and we’re going to pretend to read the rules.” High school, in retrospect, wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad, either.

My roommate and I are getting along well. We’ve talked over the phone a few times and there seems to be a good level of trust between us now. My only concern is that she lets me get the bed by the window!

I really am excited, though.

Less than a month left on the clock

Time keeps ticking closer and it’s getting down to the wire. I’ve finished up the last of my college shopping and everything is sitting piled in my room. All that’s left is to pack it all up, straighten my room one last time, and take my last look around the house in my last few moments of being a resident.

This is the bedding set I went ahead and got:

I want a lighter, more inviting environment. My bedroom is very dark and is really only inviting when I am going to sleep.

I also got my final schedule, which is basically horrible.

The times are great; the longest class is and hour and fifteen minutes, which is 45 minutes shorter than I had in high school. The only problem is that, when I looked my professors up on ratemyprofessors.com it seems that I got the short end of the stick for all of them. The ones who are only there for the money and could care less about their teaching.

Thankfully, I have a good afternoon to myself after each day, and a decent amount of time for lunch. It won’t be all bad, I hope.

My roommate and I are getting along really well, so things might just work out good between us come move-in.

Who knows what direction this last month will take?

I’ve been communicating more and more with my roommate, and we’ve seem to have reached a common ground. We are splitting the cost of the room fridge, I am bringing the game systems and she is bringing the tv. We’re getting along pretty well, which is more than to be expected for most people who were stuck with a random roommate.

“ED, RD, EA, What?” Decision Plans and What They Mean For You

admissionsbeast:

Dearest Applicants,

Before you even begin to apply to a school, you’ll notice that they have two (or three) sets of deadlines: one for Regular Decision and one for Early Action/Early Decision.  What’s the difference? When should I apply? Is one better than the other? Have no fear, for all these questions there are answers. Let’s review.

It is my own experience that shows those who apply for Early Decision/Action get accepted a lot more than those who wait for Regular Decision!
